Centre Bridge is centered next to the Delaware Canal and the Delaware River where Upper York and River roads meet and extends from Ely Road to Laurel Road. The Centre Bridge Inn is at the intersection, and it and 59 other buildings were named in the historic recognition. Included are the William Mitchell house, later the home of New Hope School artist Edward Redfield, and the Isaiah Paxson Farm, now called Burgess Lea, which itself is on the National Register of Historic Places. The village was given national recognition in 1985.
